License Explanations
Single licenses cover a single user or station. This means with one single user registration you can use the software on your laptop and home computer, as long as the use is not simultaneous. If you need to use the software simultaneously on multiple computers, you must buy a license for each computer (or perhaps a site license).
Mini site licenses cover 10 users at a single location of your
company, organization, school, or educational institution.
Academic site licenses cover an unlimited number
of users at a single location of your
school or educational institution. Academic site licenses may only be purchased by schools or other educational institutions.
Standard site licenses cover an unlimited number
of users at a single location of your
company or organization.
Wide site licenses cover an unlimited number of users within your company, school district/county, or organization, regardless of location or distance.
For all site licenses, the following applies: A "single location" is defined as the physical address (location) of the site license purchaser. Users who are current students of or currently work at the school, educational institution, company, or organization at the physical address which purchased the site license may use the software beyond this physical address (e.g. laptops) provided the total number of users does not exceed the allowed number, and provided that at least 50% of the software use under the license is at the physical address which purchased the site license. A wide site license does not have this location or distance restriction.
A license covers only one platform (e.g. Macintosh or Windows). Platform revisions, if we support them, are covered; thus a Macintosh license covers Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X.
Future major revisions to the software may have cost upgrades. Periodic Table 4.0 represents a major rewrite of the program, and is the first upgrade we have charged for. (If you purchased Periodic Table after October 1, 2004, you may use version 4.0 without purchasing an upgrade; your Periodic Table 3.0 registration code(s) will work with version 4.0.)
