25 October 2007  ConverTable Units Plug-In Units Editor 0.8 is now available. As noted above, ConverTable Units 2.8 supports non-Roman text in plug-ins. To make these plug-ins, you need a new version of the Plug-In Units Editor. (Note that if for some reason you need to make plug-ins which are compatible with ConverTable Units 1.5 - 2.7, you'll need to get the old Plug-In Units Editor 0.7 which is available here.) The ConverTable Units Plug-In Units Editor 0.8 is a Universal application for both PowerPC and Intel-based Macintosh computers and Mac OS X 10.3 or later, and is free (though it's not much use without registering ConverTable Units). Download Plug-In Units Editor 0.8 today!

28 August 2006  Synergy Creations' Periodic Table 4.0.4 is now available. Synergy Creations' Periodic Table 4.0.4 brings a number of improvements to the software, and is recommended for all users. One change is the updating of atomic weights (mean relative atomic masses) to the IUPAC 2005 standard. In most of the 16 non-superheavy elements which have updated values, the changes in weights impact the last decimal place of accuracy--you aren't going to get any general chem questions wrong using the old values! Other changes occur in some of the superheavy elements, where the mass number of the most stable isotope is by tradition the mass listed, rather than an average mass. As some of these superheavy elements are known from only a handful of short-lived atoms in accelerators, it is unsurprising that the longest-lived isotope may change a bit as our knowledge increases. Finally, you can now optionally display the atomic masses on the element information window with the standard uncertainty of the least significant digit (this is a preference under the "Units" tab). Periodic Table 4 can be registered for $20. Upgrades from versions prior to 4.0 are $15. Periodic Table 4.0.4 requires Mac OS X 10.2.8 or later (10.3 or later recommended). Download Periodic Table 4.0.4 today!

You can register ChemDuet for only $12 to enable all the features.

18 August 2006  ChemDuet is the new name for the software formerly called periodicPod. Upgrading to ChemDuet is free for everyone who has registered periodicPod. We hope you like the new name. 25 January 2006  The First Intel Macs were recently introduced by Apple, who have announced their intention to transition from PowerPC to Intel processors in Mac computers. The Intel-based Macs will run Mac OS X software compiled for PowerPC Macs, such as our current Mac OS X software. We do plan to produce "Intel-native" versions of our Mac OS X software. However, as our software applications are generally not processor-intensive, there is no reason to wait for these versions--the current PowerPC Mac OS X applications offered by Synergy Creations should run fine on the new Intel Macs.

  • Tables are not only customizable, but you can now create your own tables, and save/share them in external custom table files.
  • An expanded and centralized glossary...
  • Support for multiple table and graph windows displayed simultaneously.
  • Registered users now get a PDF manual. (Download link provided after registration.)
  • The element information screen looks better and is more responsive. (Yes, it does more and it's faster.)
  • Streamlined graphing capabilities, graphs are now highly customizable.
  • Customizable (seeing a trend here?) mini info windows can float above elements you mouse over on a table.
  • The tables and graphs are resizable, and you can view multiple tables and graphs simultaneously, so now you finally have a reason for requisitioning that 30-inch cinema display...
  • You can now search for some "lost" elements, such as cassiopium and columbium. And you can search for French, German, and Swedish element names.
  • The tables (not just graphs) are exportable--and at your choice of sizes.

Upon the release of version 4.0, the crossgrade price will become $15. Crossgrades are for customers who have previously purchased either the Macintosh or Windows edition of Periodic Table, and now want to also use the other edition.
